Please feel free to check back periodically as I will continually be updating my positions on various issue. And no, I do not believe we need more condos at this time in our development and in these economic times. The ones we have are not selling. We have so little undeveloped land. We need to make better use of our water resources in drawing more people into town so that our revenue sources come from outside of Hull, not our taxpayers.

Comment on 21st Century Schools and a plan for the future of the Hull Public Schools

Would you jump on board a sinking ship???? We would not be in this trouble if our school comm. did not trade fancy buildings for academics! Why don't you pull papers?

Comment on ..........The First Hullblog Election Poll..........

Here is the big question....what are those other avenues/options for raising the needed money? Keep in mind state aid continues to drop and most of the towns expenses are fixed..insurance pension etc. Do you recommend across the board layoffs and service cuts? what is going to bring in the houndreds of thousands/millions of dollars that will be needed. Do you support condos?

Comment on ..........The First Hullblog Election Poll..........

Thanks Rhoda. You don't know me, but I've supported you at the polls in the past, and our house was already leaning towards voting for you, and we both vote at every election. I just read your response to my wife and; without batting an eye, she said "she got my vote", so 2 for Rhoda in May !!

Part of our property is on Atlantic Ave right by the playground, and your more than welcome to put a sign up there, I'll email you off of your website

Comment on ..........The First Hullblog Election Poll..........

In response to a question raised earlier the following describes my position on the override.

Where do you stand on the proposed override?

Regardless of my position on the issue, I believe the question needs to be decided by the voters.

In principle, I do not support ongoing operating expenses being funded by overrides. Overrides and debt exclusions need to be reserved for major capital projects. Therefore, I cannot support the proposed override.

In addition, I strongly believe that, difficult as it may be, the town must live within its budget as we all need to do. If increased revenue is needed, the town must vigorously pursue options other than increasing the tax burden on its already over-burdened citizens.

Much as I sympathize with the significant cuts the school department has had to bear over the last few years, I cannot support an override as the solution.

Comment on 21st Century Schools and a plan for the future of the Hull Public Schools

hundreds of comments...everyone the expert on what is wrong and no one is taking out papers to run for open seats....nothing but hot air. cant do more than some factless, slanderous statements. what jokers. pitiful.

Comment on ..........The First Hullblog Election Poll..........

It is now. I would like to see a list of issues and her positions on each on the site. That goes for Brannan, and the incumbents.

Comment on ..........The First Hullblog Election Poll..........

Rhoda's Open House is at the Red Parrot, March 18, 2010 at 7:00 pm. Go and talk to her. I think you will find that she is not a typical politician. I think you will find her open and responsive giving specific answers to your concerns.

Comment on ..........The First Hullblog Election Poll..........

At least three of the candidates have announced open houses. Go there and ask them directly where they stand on each of the issues including the override. I have heard that neither Rhoda nor John B. support the override and that the School Committee is angry with her because she was a SC member and should support it.
